The proposals for Northern Gateway, JPA 1.1 land allocation (Heywood/Pilsworth) have been out to public consultation, launching on the 20 January 2025.
Thanks to everyone that came down to our two in person events which took place in both Heywood and Bury and saw around 100 people attend. The public consultation has also involved local councillors from Bury and Rochdale and local MPs who have been briefed on the proposals and provided the opportunity to ask questions. An online Q&A event took place to provide an additional opportunity to hear about the plans and submit questions to the Northern Gateway Delivery Vehicle (NGDV) team.
At both of the in-person events, members of the NGDV team were available to discuss the plans which include around 600,000 sqm of employment space.
The themes that were discussed during the public consultation included the types of future job opportunities, the local benefits that the scheme will provide including landscape and green, open space for community use, active travel routes and highways and local transport provision to support the development proposals.
The feedback period closed on Monday 17th February. In the coming weeks, a full report of the themes arising and comments from the public consultation will be provided in the Statement of Community Involvement submitted with the planning application.
