Northern Gateway
Northern Gateway will be Greater Manchester’s biggest and most significant proposed employment development. It will drive jobs and investment in the northern boroughs, supporting a rebalancing of the city region’s economy.
Set within the Atom Valley Mayoral Development Zone, Northern Gateway is allocated in the Places for Everyone (PfE) joint development plan and is set to create a dynamic and nationally significant employment destination.
We have submitted an outline planning application to Bury and Rochdale Councils for the first phase of the Northern Gateway employment site. The Northern Gateway Development Vehicle (NGDV) team visited Construction and Engineering students at Bury College to deliver a presentation and careers session to over 200 students.
The event formed part of on-going relationship building between the NGDV and local educational establishments, to ensure the huge benefits in investment and jobs growth from the Northern Gateway project are harnessed in the local communities.

Public consultation has now closed and the outline planning application has been submitted to Bury and Rochdale Councils. Once the application is validated, the full documents will be available to view and comment on via the Councils’ planning portals.
